Application
This automatic potato chips packing machine uses a multihead weigher to measure lightweight and irregular snack products by target weight, then feeds each portion into a vertical form fill seal machine for automatic bag forming, filling, sealing and cutting.
Suitable products include:
- Potato chips, plantain chips, banana chips and cassava chips
- Tortilla chips, popcorn, puffed snacks and shrimp crackers
- Peanuts, nuts and candy
- Other free-flowing snack products with similar weighing and packing requirements
The multihead weigher combines several weighing portions to reach the preset target weight before discharging the product into the formed bag. Actual packing speed depends on the product shape, filling weight, bag size and selected machine model.

Package Type
The chips packing machine forms bags directly from roll film and supports pillow bags and back-seal bags. With the corresponding forming collar and machine configuration, it can also produce gusset bags for larger snack packages.
The machine works with plain or printed heat-sealable laminated packaging films such as OPP/CPP, BOPP/CPP, PET/PE and metallized laminated film. Film structure should be selected according to the snack product, barrier requirements and sealing temperature.

Features
- Multihead weigher combines multiple weighing portions to reach the preset filling weight for lightweight and irregular snack products.
- Separate weighing buckets calculate and combine portions before discharging the product into the vertical packing machine.
- VFFS machine completes roll-film feeding, bag forming, filling, sealing and cutting in one continuous packing process.
- Servo film-pulling system controls film movement and bag length according to the selected package settings.
- Photoelectric sensor tracks registration marks when the machine runs printed packaging film.
- Independent temperature controls adjust the vertical and horizontal sealing temperatures for different laminated films.
- PLC and touchscreen control weighing parameters, bag length, packing speed and sealing settings.
- Recipe storage keeps packing parameters for different snack products, filling weights and bag sizes.
- Different forming collars support pillow bags, back-seal bags and optional gusset bag configurations.
- Product handling structure limits unnecessary impact on brittle products such as potato chips and similar snacks.
- Optional nitrogen flushing adds gas before final sealing when the packaging process requires nitrogen-filled snack bags.
- Stainless-steel product-contact parts suit routine food packaging and product changeover.
- The packing line can connect with coding, checkweighing and finished-bag conveying equipment according to the production layout.

FAQ
What products can this potato chips packing machine pack?
It can pack potato chips, banana chips, plantain chips, tortilla chips, cassava chips, popcorn, puffed snacks, shrimp crackers, peanuts, nuts, candy and other free-flowing snack products that can be measured with a multihead weigher.
What bag types can the machine produce?
The vertical packing machine forms pillow bags and back-seal bags directly from roll film. A suitable forming collar and machine configuration can also support gusset bags.
What packaging film can be used?
The machine works with compatible heat-sealable laminated roll films such as OPP/CPP, BOPP/CPP, PET/PE and metallized laminated film. The final film structure should match the product, sealing conditions and required barrier properties.
Can the chips packing machine add nitrogen before sealing?
Yes. Nitrogen flushing can be added as an optional configuration when the snack packaging process requires gas filling before the horizontal seal closes the bag.
What affects the actual packing speed?
Actual output depends on the selected VFFS model, target filling weight, bag dimensions, product shape, weighing conditions and optional packing functions. The complete line speed should be confirmed with the actual product and package specification.
