Application

This potato chips packing machine handles fried plantain chips, potato crisps, banana chips, cassava chips, tortilla chips and other lightweight snack products.

The integrated multihead weigher portions the chips by weight and transfers each batch to the vertical packing section. The machine forms bags from roll film, fills the weighed chips and seals each pack without separate manual weighing.

Package Type

The machine produces pillow bags with center back seals from heat-sealable roll film. It supports plain or printed laminated films, including BOPP/CPP, PET/PE and compatible metallized materials. An optional gusset-forming device can produce gusseted bags for larger snack portions.

Workflow

1. Chips Feeding, 2. Multihead Combination Weighing, 3. Roll Film Unwinding, 4. Bag Forming & Back Sealing, 5. Bottom Sealing, 6. Weighed Chips Filling, 7. Top Sealing & Cutting, 8. Finished Bag Discharge

Features

1. Integrated multihead weigher and vertical packing unit combine product weighing, bag forming, filling and sealing in one machine structure.
2. Multihead weighing buckets select weight combinations for irregularly shaped potato and plantain chips.
3. Weight settings accommodate different snack portions without requiring individual piece counting.
4. Roll-film forming system produces pillow bags with center back seals for single-serving and larger snack packs.
5. Servo-controlled film pulling adjusts bag length and controls film movement through the sealing section.
6. Photoelectric registration tracking positions printed packaging film during bag making.
7. Independent sealing temperature settings accommodate compatible laminated snack packaging films.
8. PLC and touchscreen allow operators to adjust target weight, bag length, packing speed and sealing parameters.
9. Optional nitrogen flushing reduces oxygen exposure inside the finished snack bag when fitted with the required gas system.

FAQ

Can this machine pack both plantain chips and potato chips?

Yes. The multihead weigher can handle both products. Feeding and weighing settings need adjustment according to chip thickness, shape and target pack weight.

Does the machine include nitrogen flushing?

Nitrogen flushing is optional. A chips packing machine with nitrogen flushing introduces gas before final sealing to reduce oxygen exposure inside the bag. The required gas supply and flushing components must be included in the selected configuration.

Will the multihead weigher damage fragile chips?

Chip breakage depends on product thickness, feeding vibration, discharge height and handling conditions. We can review product samples and adjust the feeding and discharge setup to limit unnecessary impact.

What packaging materials can I use?

The machine works with compatible heat-sealable laminated roll films, including BOPP/CPP, PET/PE and metallized film structures. Film selection depends on the required bag size and sealing conditions.

Can the machine produce different bag sizes?

Yes. Operators can adjust bag length through the control system. Different bag widths may require a matching forming collar and compatible film width.

Does the machine weigh chips individually?

No. The multihead weigher measures portions in separate weighing buckets and selects a combination that matches the target pack weight.

Can the machine reach 60 bags per minute with plantain chips?

The maximum speed is 60 bags/min under specified operating conditions. Actual production depends on chip size, portion weight, bag dimensions and the time required to complete each weighing cycle.
